Contract 06

GALVESTON — A chemical decontamination company is suing a former employee who, after resigning, allegedly violated a non-compete agreement and misappropriating the employer's proprietary information.

The United Laboratories International, LLC,  a Delaware company with offices in Harris County, filed a complaint Feb. 17 in 122nd District Court of Galveston County, Texas, against Johnathan Walsh, alleging that violated an employment contract when he resigned to work at a competing company and brought with him a confidential list of the company's customers.

According to the complaint, Walsh was employed by ULI between March 7, 2012, and Feb. 10, 2016. ULI alleges Walsh left one week after giving notice of his resignation and emailed a copy of the confidential customer list to his private email address. The company later realized Walsh took a position with a compaeting company. The plaintiff alleges Walsh disregarded the terms of the employment contract he had with ULI.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for an injunction bond for the proprietary and confidential material, as well as all recoverable fees and costs. ULI is represented by Matthew S. Veech, Andrew D. Pearce and Molly M. Griffin of BoyarMiller in Houston.
