BEAUMONT — A couple has filed suit against a motorist and his passenger for alleged negligence that resulted in an injury after the motorist rear-ended the couple's vehicle.
David Bates and Denice Bates filed a complaint in Jefferson County District Court against Christhian Poblado Mena, also known as John Doe, and Miguel Medardo-Ramirez, alleging that they wrongfully neglected their responsibilities while operating a motorized vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 12, 2015, David Bates and Denice Bates suffered injuries while operating their vehicle. The plaintiff holds Christhian Poblado Mena, also known as John Doe, and Miguel Medardo-Ramirez responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to control their speed and keep a look out while driving their vehicle, which caused injuries to others.
The plaintiffs seek compensation for all damages, lost wages as a result of the injuries suffered, legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Bob K. Monk of The Monk Law Firm in Beaumont, Texas.
