Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. allegedly failed to pay motorist in vehicle accident

BEAUMONT — A motorist has filed suit against an insurance company for alleged breach of contract and negligence that resulted in an injury after her car was purportedly backed into in a parking lot.

Dana Duggins filed a complaint Feb. 26 in District Court of Jefferson County against Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co., alleging that the insurance company wrongfully neglected its duties as insurer to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 4, she was hit by another vehicle, which caused her to sustain injuries. The plaintiff holds Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly was informed of the accident that happened to the plaintiff but refused to cover damages, since the at-fault driver was uninsured.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for all damages including interest, legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Cody Rees of Rees Law Firm in Beaumont.
