Employee sues Noble Drilling alleging he was injured on the job

GALVESTON – A roustabout alleges he was injured while working on the job.

Bacillio Cortez Jr. filed a complaint on March 8 in Galveston County District Court against Noble Drilling (U.S.) LLC, Offshore Service Vessels LLC and Galliano Marine Service LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained injuries to his elbow, back and neck while doing his duties aboard the vessel Noble Sam Croft on Feb. 4 due to the negligence of his employer. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly neglected their duties to their employees by not inspecting the vessel and equipment, not providing safe working environment, and other negligent acts.

The plaintiff seeks the following: $1 million in damages, loss of earnings, medical expenses, attorneys' fees, cost of suit and any further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Kurt B. Arnold, Kyle Findley and Cesar Tavares of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
