Employee alleges ExxonMobil's discrimination led to demotion

HOUSTON — An employee is suing ExxonMobil, alleging discrimination led to her demotion.

Nicole Scott of Harris County filed a lawsuit March 8 the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against ExxonMobil Technical Computing Company, alleging racial and sexual discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, ExxonMobil demoted Scott back to a USG position and deprived her of equal employment opportunities due to her being a black woman. This adversely affected her status as an employee, the suit says

The plaintiff alleges violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1866

Scott seeks compensation for liquidated damages plus interest, attorney fees, costs of court, and other relief to which she may be entitled, plus a jury trial. She is represented by attorneys Alfonso Kennard Jr. and José E. Galvan of Kenard Richard PC in Houston.
