Car salesman alleges he was wrongfully terminated

Wrongful term 01

HOUSTON – A Houston man alleges that he was terminated by his employer because he refused to follow management's wrongful policies regarding car sales.

Steven A. Calderone filed a complaint on Dec. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Sonic Houston JLR, LP alleging wrongful termination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a car salesman for the defendant and opposed management's alleged recommendation to only sell and finance vehicles to qualified white customers. The plaintiff holds Sonic Houston JLR LP responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated him on Sept. 2, 2014, because he opposed the discriminatory practice.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all damages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just and proper. He is represented by Thomas F. Coleman of Law Offices of Tom F. Coleman in Houston.
