HOUSTON — A Marine Corps veteran is suing United Airlines, alleging failure to uphold federal laws.

Carol Castillo filed a lawsuit March 11 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against United Airlines, Inc., alleging failure to uphold Americans with Disabilities Act regulations, retaliation, violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act, and wrongful termination.

According to the complaint, between June 21, 2012 and Aug. 25, 2015, Castillo was terminated as a result of her occasional leaves of absence due to her migraines. The plaintiff alleges the defendant terminated her without providing any evidence based on its claim that Castillo was untruthful about her condition.

Castillo seeks compensation for all damages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just and proper, plus a jury trial. She is represented by attorney Edwin Sullivan of Oberti Sullivan LLP in Houston.
