A & M Contractors Inc., et al. alleged to have not paid overtime wages

HOUSTON – A general labor/construction worker has filed a class-action suit against his former employers over allegations they did not pay overtime wages.

Santiago Leyva filed a class-action complaint on behalf of all similarly situated persons on March 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against A & M Contractors Inc., Palmera Construction & Development LLC, Mohammad Yousef and Abdulhamid ("Abed") Dumani citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2009 and April 2015, he was paid an hourly rate but was not paid any overtime wage during his employment. The plaintiff holds A & M Contractors Inc., Palmera Construction & Development LLC, Yousef and Dumani responsible because the defendants allegedly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by paying overtime premium to their employees for worked rendered more than 40 hours per work week.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for trial by jury, all damages, unpaid overtime wages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu in Houston.
