Former employee alleges Houston company failed to pay overtime

Overtime

GALVESTON — An Aransas County man is suing a Houston company, alleging failure to pay overtime wages.

Randy Lacombe, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a class-action lawsuit March 10 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Applus Velosi America LLC, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

According to the complaint, Lacombe worked for more than 40 hours per week but was not paid any overtime wages during his employment. The plaintiff alleges the defendant paid its employees on a day rate basis regardless of how many hours the employee has worked that day.

Lacombe seeks a trial by jury, damages for all hours worked more than 40, unpaid overtime wages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Don J. Foty and John Neuman of Kennedy Hodges, LLP in Houston.
