GALVESTON — A Hitchcock customer is suing a Santa Fe market, alleging its negligence caused her to suffer injuries.

Beverly Goodman of Hitchcock filed a lawsuit March 31, in the Galveston County District Court against Arlan's Markets Inc. and James C. Daniels, individually and doing business as Santa Fe Junction Shopping Center, alleging failure to maintain and ensure safe facilities that are free from hazards that may cause injuries.

According to the complaint, on March 7, 2015, Goodman sustained injuries when she tripped on a wooden spacer while walking from the parking lot to the shopping center in Santa Fe. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to maintain their facilities or warn customers of any hazard while walking within the premises.

The plaintiff says she sustained physical pain and mental anguish, plus physical impairment and disability.

Goodman seeks monetary damages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Wade D. Moriarty of The Crim Law Firm, PC in Houston.
