Former employee alleges Houston company failed to pay overtime

0525

HOUSTON — A former employee is suing a Houston company, alleging unpaid wages.

Sonya Quinnett filed a complaint April 1, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cenergy International Services LLC, alleging failure to pay overtime wages.

According to the complaint, between July 21, 2014, and Sept. 3, 2015, Quinnett worked for more than 40 hours per week on invoices and weekly reports but did not receive any overtime pay for extra hours worked. The plaintiff alleges Cenergy approved her working more than 40 hours per week but did not pay fair compensation for those extra hours.

Quinnett seeks a trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages at the applicable rate, amount equal to the unpaid wages as liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
