Channelview woman alleges Texas business violated phone harassment laws

GALVESTON — A Channelview woman is suing a Houston business, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Candice Petry of Channelview filed a lawsuit April 4, in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against GC Services LP alleging it harassed her plaintiff in an attempt to collect a debt she owed.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2015, Petry was called and threatened because of a debt she owed. The plaintiff alleges the defendant used misleading representations in an attempt to collect the debt.

Petry seeks a trial by jury, actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Jenny DeFrancisco of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
