Austrian business alleges Texas industrial company owes more than $7 million

LUFKIN — An Austrian business is suing a Woodville company, alleging breach of contract and unpaid debt.

MFC Commodities GMBH of Vienna filed a lawsuit March 15 in the Lufkin Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Texas Pellets Inc., alleging it failed to pay more than $7 million.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 9, MFC Commodities suffered monetary damages of $7,292,151.75 because Texas Pellets breached their contract by failing to pay MFC for supplying approximately 40,000 metric tons of pellets.

MFC Commodities seeks damages of $7,292,151.75, plus interest at the maximum legal rate, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Ronald L. Oran Jr. and Kip Brar of Strasburger & Price LLP in Houston.
