HOUSTON — A former employee is suing a Houston restaurant, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation law.

Jose Teodoro Mateo Aleman filed a lawsuit April 12 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Georgee's Baja Grill Inc. and Jorge A. Aguilar, alleging they failed to fairly compensate employees by paying overtime wages, violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, between December 2014 and March 27, 2016, Aleman worked more than 40 hours per week but did not receive any overtime. The plaintiff alleges Georgee's Baja Grill Inc. and had knowledge of the total hours Aleman was working per week but chose not to pay overtime.

Aleman seeks a trial by jury, all unpaid overtime wage, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wage, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Josef F. Beunker and Vijay Pattisapu of Buenker Law in Houston.
