Ohio business alleges ex-employee disclosed confidential information

HOUSTON — An Ohio business is suing a former employee, alleging breach of contract in leaking confidential information to a competitor.

Brothers Trading Co. Inc., of Springboro, Ohio, filed a lawsuit April 13, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against James D. Harrison of Missouri City, alleging breach of contract and fraud.

According to the complaint, between Dec. 27, 2005 and January 2016, Brothers Trading, a wholesaler of grocery, beauty and health products, suffered damages to it's business as a result of sensitive information being leaked to a competitor by Harrison who shared company secrets. Harrison worked for Brothers Trading until Jan. 28,the suit says.

Brothers Trading seeks a trial by jury, a permanent injunction against the defendant from further use of confidential information, compensatory damages, interest, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Jason Cross of Frost Brown Todd LLC in Dallas.
