HOUSTON — An employee is suing a Subway restaurant in Cypress, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Breonna Brown of Houston filed a lawsuit April 25, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against L.A.A. Subway Inc. and Lidia Dobre, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, between September 2014 and March 11, 2016, Brown worked for more than 40 hours per week at a Subway restaurant in Cypress, but was not paid overtime at the correct and legal rate. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay her overtime pay at the required time and a half rate as defined by the FLSA.

Brown seeks a trial by jury, all damages, interest, liquidated damages, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Charles L. Scalise of Ross Law Group in Austin.
