Guardian accuses Galveston County man of gun assault

GALVESTON — A legal guardian is suing a Galveston County man, alleging the defendant shot a minor twice.

Collin Lafavers as next friend of D.L., a minor, filed a lawsuit April 12, in Galveston County District Court against Martin Arguello alleging abuse, assault, deliberate intent, excessive force and reckless conduct.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 9, 2015, D.L. sustained injuries when he was intentionally shot twice by Arguello outside a Galveston home.

The suit says Arguello has engaged in similar dangerous behavior. The complaint also states D.L. sustained injuries, medical expenses and loss of wages

Lafevers seeks a trial by jury, exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Chad Pinkerton and Joshua R. Hilbe of The Pinkerton Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
