GALVESTON — A Harris County man is suing the owners of a Kemah restaurant, alleging one of their table umbrellas fell on him.

Shaun Williams filed a lawsuit April 27 in Galveston County District Court against Landry's Inc., doing business as Kemah Boardwalk, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on April 27, 2014, Williams sustained injuries when the umbrella at his table suddenly uprooted and hit him. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to secure the umbrellas.

The suit says the plaintiff sustained physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and lost wages.

Williams seeks all medical expenses, damages, interest at the maximum rate allowed by the law, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by David A. Bryant, Jr. of The Bryant Law Firm in Houston.
