Law money 03

HOUSTON – A plumber alleges he was not paid overtime wages and has filed a class-action suit.

Duane Collins filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 3 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against John Moore LP alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between March 2012 and March 2015, he worked for more than 40 hours per work week but was not paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds John Moore LP responsible because the defendant allegedly permitted plaintiff to work for more than 40 hours per work week but did not compensate plaintiff by paying a rate of time-and-one-half.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation at the applicable rate, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Robert R. Debes Jr. and Ricardo J. Prieto of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
