Chevrolet owner alleges Tahoe had defective airbags

Car accident 31

BEAUMONT – A Louisiana woman alleges she was injured in a vehicle accident because an airbag did not deploy.

Anita E. Cassia, individually and as next friend of Ryan Kaleb Delaney Abbott, a minor, and Kayleigh Alexis Abbott, filed a complaint on April 28 in the Jefferson County District Court against Beaumont Motor Co., doing business as Classic Chevrolet, and General Motors LLC, citing negligence and strict liability.

According to the complaint, Cassia alleges that on Oct. 3, 2014, she sustained personal injuries when she was involved in an accident and the air bag on the passenger side of her Chevrolet Tahoe failed to deploy. The plaintiffs hold Beaumont Motor Co. Classic Chevrolet and General Motors LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and distributed vehicles with defective safety features.

The plaintiffs seek actual and special damages, exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by M. Kevin Queenan and Carlos Lopez of Queenan Law Firm PC in Arlington and J. Trenton Bond of Portner Bond PLLC in Beaumont.
