Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber has been sued in Harris County District Court for allegedly destroying a clubgoer’s smartphone.
According to Houston resident Robert Earl Morgan’s May 3 lawsuit, the plaintiff last April 9 was taking a SnapChat post of Bieber, who was in town as part of his Purpose World Tour, drinking out of a beer-bong at Cle nightclub when the singer spilled the contents “all over himself, his clothes, and on his face.”

Court papers assert that Bieber noticed Morgan in his vicinity and “scolded him before he grabbed Morgan’s phone from his person,” stating the plaintiff promised the supposedly intoxicated singer the post would be deleted but not before he got his phone back.
“Morgan’s sole concern at this point was getting his phone back because of the important personal and business information that was stored on the phone,” the complaint says.
“Before Morgan could say anything else, Bieber smashed Morgan’s telephone into pieces and had his security detail toss Morgan out of the area where Bieber was located.”
Per Morgan, he returned to the club after the crowds dispersed to retrieve his SIM card to no avail. He reportedly purchased a new device to replace that one which carried “pictures from his grandmother’s birthday party” and “lost business contacts, messages, and negotiations.”
Consequently, Morgan seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
