MARSHALL – An African-American woman alleges that she was denied job positions because of her race.

Tena K. McCoo filed a complaint on May 6 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Titus Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Inc. citing alleged discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between May 2013 and December 2013, she was denied transfer to a more suitable radiologic technologist position because of her race. The plaintiff holds Titus Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against the plaintiff during her employment and retaliated against her when she filed a complaint for racial discrimination, including lowering her performance reviews and discharging her on Sept. 14, 2014.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant, economic damages such as back pay, front pay and all lost benefits; compensatory damages; punitive damages; reinstatement; interest; all legal fees; and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Eric M. Albritton and Shawn A. Latchford of Albritton Law Firm in Longview and Edward K. Chin of Albritton Law Firm in Southlake.
