Employee accuses Orange company of discrimination

Wrongful term 08

HOUSTON — A former employee is suing an Orange hydraulics company, alleging racial discrimination caused him to leave his job.

Seneca Jones filed a lawsuit May 6 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Tubal-Cain Hydraulic Solutions Inc., Tubal Cain Industries Inc., Tubal-Cain Holdings LLC, Tubal-Cain Marine Services Inc., Tubal-Cain Industrial Services Inc., Tubal-Cain Gas Free Services Inc., Tubal-Cain Rentals Inc., Tubal-Cain Marine Services-Devall Fleet Inc., and Tubal-Cain Gas Free Services-Devall Fleet Inc., alleging discrimination, hostile work environment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

According to the complaint, starting in February 2012, Jones experienced racial discrimination including racial insults and highly offensive racial jokes. The plaintiff alleges his tires were slashed June 29, 2012, and this kind of behavior made it impossible for him to continue working for Tubal Cain.

Jones seeks a trial by jury, all damages, interest, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Robert W. Schmidt and Joe K. Crews of Crews Law Firm PC in Austin and Ron Estefan of The Estefan Firm PC in Houston.
