HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing an oil rig business, alleging age and race discrimination cost her a chance at promotions.

Nancy Tise filed a lawsuit May 16 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cameron Rig Solutions LLC, Cameron Rig Solutions II Inc., Cameron International Corporation, Onesubsea LLC, and Schlumberger Limited, alleging discrimination based on her race and age.

According to the complaint, Tise, a white woman who was 53 at the time of the incidents, experienced discrimination because of her color, leading to her dismissal Jan. 29, 2013. The plaintiff alleges the defendants denied her promotion opportunities based on her race and age and then retaliated against Tise when she complained about the treatment she was receiving.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, all damages, interest at the highest rate allowed by the law, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Alfonso Kennard Jr of Kennard Richard PC in Houston.
