Family accuses Ford Motor Co. of negligence in truck's design

Car accident 19

SHERMAN – A Little Elm family alleges that they were injured when a truck caught fire after an accident.

Ronald Braudaway and Mary Braudaway, individually and as next friends to minor children A.B. and C.B., filed a complaint on June 10 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Ford Motor Co. alleging negligence in the design, manufacture and assembly of the truck.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 14, 2015, they were traveling in a 2012 F-150 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail, flipping the truck over. The suit states that the vehicle burst into flames, causing serious injuries to the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs holds Ford Motor Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect its vehicles for defects and make sure that safeguards were properly in place before selling them to consumers.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by E. Todd Tracy, Stewart D. Matthews and Andrew G. Counts of The Tracy Firm in Dallas.
