HOUSTON — An Alaska man is suing two Texas corporations, alleging their negligence led to him suffering injuries.
Nathan Makowski filed a lawsuit June 22 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Titan Urban Development LLC and Builder's Choice Inc., alleging breach of duty, negligence and wrongful termination.
According to the complaint, on July 23, 2014, Makowski, a field service manager, was injured when he slipped and fell on a loose stair tread which has not been fixed to the stairwell at construction site in Houston.
The suit says Makowski suffered a right shoulder tear and incurred medical expenses. He was discharged Aug. 29, 2014, as a pretext for reporting the accident the previous month, the lawsuit states.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants permitted a dangerous condition to exist longer than was safe, failed to warn or make the condition safe and wrongfully discharged him.
Makowski seeks a trial by jury, actual damages, costs of court, pre- and post-judgment interest, and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorney John Caldwell Fletcher of Houston.
