HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a Richardson debt collector, alleging harassment and abuse.

Linda Dade filed a lawsuit June 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Hillcrest, Davidson and Associates LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, on July 27, 2015, Hillcrest, Davidson contacted Dade, attempting to collect a debt, which she was unable to pay at that time due to financial hardship.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant used abusive language when speaking to Dade, used unfair and unconscionable means to collect the debt and engaged in behavior that was harassment, oppressive and/or abusive

Dade seeks a trial by jury, damages, statutory damages of at least $1,000, punitive damages, reasonable attorney fees and legal costs and such other relief as is deemed just and proper. She is represented by attorney Jenny DeFrancisco of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
