TYLER — A Denton County man is suing a consumer reporting agency and supplier of information, alleging false reporting.

Brad Johnson filed a lawsuit July 25 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Equifax Information Services LLP and Discover Financial Services, alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, Johnson was subjected to negative reporting information and has suffered financial damages, plus great physical, emotional and mental pain and anguish and lowered credit scores.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to ensure maximum possible accuracy of his financial information, reported false and inaccurate information and failed to provide a good faith investigation of his financial standing.

Johnson seeks a trial by jury, actual, statutory and punitive damages, legal costs and attorney fees and such other relief as is deemed just and proper. He is represented by attorney Dennis McCarty of Carrollton.
