Houston health care provider alleges insurer failed to cover costs

Medical malpractice 05

GALVESTON — A Houston infusion care service provider is suing health care insurers, alleging failure to timely pay.

Experience Infusion Center LLC filed a lawsuit July 26 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Health Care Service Corporation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, alleging violation of the Texas Prompt Pay Act.

According to the complaint, Experience and Infusion suffered substantial financial damages for not receiving payment on time from the insurers. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to timely and properly pay the plaintiff’s claims for the full amount billed and failed to contest or dispute the plaintiff’s claims within the 30-day deadline.

Experience Infusion Center seeks a trial by jury judgment, jointly and severally, for actual damages, statutory penalty and interest, attorney fees, court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other relief the court considers proper. It is represented by attorney Robert D. Green of Robert D. Green & Associates PC in Houston.
