Health care provider accuses software provider of fraud

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont health care provider is suing a management software provider, alleging fraud and misrepresentation.

Cardiac Consultants PA filed a complaint July 19 in Jefferson County District Court against Universal Software Solutions Inc., doing business as Versasuite, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, Cardiac Consultants suffered economic damages for paying $48,302.02 for a defective software system and an additional loss of Medicare incentives of $81,000. 

The plaintiff alleges Versasuite failed to provide versatile software solutions to electronically store records, billing, accounts receivable and collections, failed to provide training webimars and defaulted in the performance of its obligation under the software license agreement.

Cardiac Consultants seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, costs of court, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, and all other other equitable relief. It is represented by attorney Larry C. Hunter of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
