Beaumont motorist alleges driver caused accident

Car accident 22

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont motorist is suing a Houston driver, alleging the defendant's negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Herbert Keys Jr. filed a lawsuit Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court against Bich Khun Ngoc Vuong, alleging negligence in failing to operate the vehicle in a safe manner.

According to the complaint, on May 26, Keys was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Avenue E and College Street in Beaumont. As he proceeded through the intersection, the suit says, Vuong suddenly entered the intersection, causing Keys to strike her, which resulted in injuries to the plaintiff.

The suit says Keys sustained pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, and lost wages. The plaintiff alleges Vuong failed to yield right of way, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to come to a timely stop.

Keys seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus interest, court costs and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorneys Mark C. Sparks and Michael A Downey of Mostyn Law in Beaumont.
