BEAUMONT — An insurance company is suing a Beaumont helicopter owner, alleging the defendant placed an unlawful claim.

StarStone National Insurance Company filed a lawsuit Aug. 4 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against LaBelleCo Fab, Co. alleging failure to complete the policy conditions of the Aviation Policy Application.

According to the complaint, StarStone National will suffer financial damages if it pays damages on the defendant's helicopter that resulted from June 7 incident when the helicopter turned over on its side. The plaintiff alleges LaBelleCo misrepresented the operator of the helicopter.

StarStone National Insurance seeks a trial by jury, rescission of the policy, judgment that there is no coverage for the resulting damage to the property and all other relief to which is justly entitled. It is represented by attorneys Richard A. Sparr, Jr. of Sparr & Geerdes Inc. in San Antonio and by Eric A. Laskowski and Clinton W. Lewis of The Lewis Law Firm in Beaumont.
