3 oilfield workers allege energy companies failed to pay overtime

Late 02

HOUSTON — Three Texas oilfield workers are suing two companies, alleging failure to pay proper overtime.

Justin Norman, Donnie Heater and Brian Keith Baccus filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 8 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against QES Wireline LLC, doing business as Quintana Energy Services LP, doing business as Archer Pressure Services, formerly known as Archer Wirelines LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Norman, Heater and Baccus regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week without receiving the overtime premium at a rate of one-and-one-half their regular rate as required by FLSA.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants refused to pay them overtime compensation at the rates required by the FLSA but instead they were paid under a hybrid base salary plus a job bonus system.

Norman, Heater and Baccus seek a trial by jury, judgment jointly and severally for all unpaid back wages, plus court costs, attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other relief deemed necessary and appropriate. They are represented by attorneys Jay Forester and J. Derek Braziel of Lee & Braziel LLP in Dallas, and by Jack Siegel of Siegel Law Group PLC in Dallas.
