Automobile mechanic alleges former employer failed to pay overtime

Late 05

SHERMAN — A Dallas County automobile mechanic is suing his former employer, alleging he was not paid proper overtime wages.

Daniel S. Brown filed a lawsuit Sept. 1 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against JNH Investments Inc. and J and H Investments Group LLC, both of which do business as SpeeDee Oil, John Alseinh and Hattman Faraj, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Brown regularly worked more than 40 hours per week, but was not paid proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay overtime at a rate of time and one-half his regular rate of pay for each hour worked in excess of 40 a week as required by FLSA.

Brown seeks trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages under FLSA, post-judgment interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorney Roger D. Marshall of Dallas.
