GALVESTON — A Galveston County motorist is suing GEICO, alleging breach of contract in failure to pay a claim.
Daniel Casper filed a lawsuit Sept. 6 in Galveston County District Court against GEICO Secure Insurance Company, alleging failure to comply with its contractual obligations.
According to the complaint, on April 9, 2015, Casper was injured in a crash when the automobile he was driving was struck by another motor vehicle in Galveston County. The suit says he timely notified GEICO and has fully complied with all the conditions of his insurance policy but GIECO has not given Casper any money.
As a result of GEICO's failure to pay, the lawsuit states, Casper has had to pay medical expenses, sustained loss of earnings and mental anguish. The plaintiff alleges GEICO has refused to pay any uninsured benefits under the policies.
Casper seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $100,000 to $200,000, plus pre- and post-judgment interest and all other relief. He is represented by attorneys Husein Hadi and Jamil Thomas of The Hadi Law Firm PC in Houston.
