HOUSTON — A contractor is suing three companies, alleging their negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries.
Charles Lewis filed a lawsuit Sept. 9 in Harris County District Court against Risers International, Procurement Services Delaware, and MEC Industrial Services Inc., alleging they operated a vessel in a dangerous condition.
According to the complaint, on May 8, 2015, Lewis was hired by Riser to do equipment inspections at MEC Shipyard in Panama City, Panama. While working, the suit says, the forklift operator moved the forklift catching Lewis' hands between the valves.
The lawsuit says this incident resulted in Lewis sustaining a severe hand injury, pain and suffering, loss of earning capacity and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly train and supervise their crew, failed to safely operate their vessel and failed to provide adequate crew.
Lewis seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, all court costs and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorneys Clyde "Chip" Adams and Michael E. Pierce of Pierce Skrabanek Bruera PLLC in Houston.
