HOUSTON — A Galveston County woman is suing a licensed attorney, alleging legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.

Alison Michelle Kraulis filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in Harris County District Court against Aletha B.Harris, alleging the licensed attorney failed to exercise the highest degree of care, good faith and honest dealing.

According to the complaint, as a result of Harris' negligence, Kraulis suffered monetary losses and damages for not being properly advised on the terms and conditions of her final divorce degree with her husband.

The plaintiff alleges Harris responsible because the defendant misrepresented that she was experienced and competent in family law mattes, failed to protect Kraulis' interests and rights and received payment from her husband.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of $1 million for economic damages, $500,000 for the defendant's fraud, award for all other damages, attorney fees, costs and all other relief to which she is entitled.
