Manager accuses manufacturing company of wrongful termination

Wrongful term 02

HOUSTON — A Texas man is suing a manufacturing company, alleging age discrimination and wrongful termination.

Kevin Cook filed a lawsuit Oct. 7 in Galveston County District Court against Monaghan Medical Corporation, alleging violation of the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 30, Cook, who was hired as a territory manager in September 2014, was terminated from his employment at Monaghan, causing him economic damages and emotional distress.

The plaintiff alleges Monaghan Medical discriminated against him on the basis of his sex and age, falsely accused him of a performance problem, discharged him from employment and replaced him with a younger employee.

Cook seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, reinstatement or front pay, attorney fees, court costs and all relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorney Nitin Sud of Sud Law PC in Bellaire.
