Delivery driver blames Houston restaurant operator for injuries

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a Houston restaurant operator, alleging its negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff. 

Md Arshad Nasim filed a lawsuit Oct. 21 in Harris County District Court against Chuy's Holdings Inc., alleging failure to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 17, 2015, Nasim an employee of Labatt Food Services, was attempting to deliver merchandise to Chuy's at 2706 Westheimer Ave.in Houston. The suit says he slipped and fell in Chuy's kitchen area, severely injuring himself. 

The lawsuit states Nasim has suffered pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide an adequate non-skid working surface, failed to warn Nasim of the dangerous condition of the floor and failed to perform routine maintenance and safety inspections.

Nasim seeks trial by jury, monetary damages between $200,000 and $1 million, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief. He is represented by attorneys Clyde "Chip" Adams and Michael E. Pierce of Pierce Skrabanek Bruera PLLC in Houston.
