SHERMAN — A New Mexico man is suing a Canadian citizen, alleging failure to pay $95,000 for completed services.

Jim Douglas filed a complaint Nov. 2 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Ken Carter, alleging violation of their agreement.

According to the complaint, Douglas provided consulting services to Carter in connection with a lawsuit that involved custody of a minor, in which Carter was successful.

The suit says Carter has not paid Douglas $95,000 for the plaintiff's consulting services.

Douglas seeks trial by jury, to recover actual damages of $95,000, plus interest, liquidated and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of court and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Ronald R. Huff of Sherman.
