SHERMAN — A black assistant store manager is suing an outlet stores operator, alleging racial discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.
Angelia Reed filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against BCBG Max Azria Group LLC, alleging violation of Title VII of the U.S. Constitution.
According to the complaint, as a result of the defendant's actions, Reed has suffered and will continue to suffer monetary damages. The plaintiff alleges the defendant subjected her to discriminatory and retaliatory actions, failed to investigate her complaint of discrimination, failed to investigate and provide remedial actions and terminated her employment at the BCBG Max Azaria store in Allen without informing her.
Reed seeks trial by jury, compensatory, punitive, exemplary and liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Michael E. Coles and Elizabeth Aten Lamberson of The Coles Firm in Dallas.
