HOUSTON — Six current or former employees are suing a limousine service, alleging violation of workers compensation acts by failing to pay proper overtime.

Stephanie Cramm, Ian Hall, Hajro Murati, Christopher Borner, James M. Kirksey and Arnold Benjamin, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a class action lawsuit Nov. 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Ormsbee Enterprises Inc., doing business as Elite Worldwide Transportation Solutions, Orsmbee Enterprises Inc., doing business as Elite Limousine of Houston, et al, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs all worked more than 40 hours a week in their jobs as drivers and office staff without receiving any overtime compensation. The plaintiffs allege the defendants required and/or permitted the plaintiffs to work in excess of 40 hours per week but refused to compensate them at a rate of one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for all extra hours, as required by FLSA, and failed to compensate them at the mandated minimum wage rate.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by attorney Alexander M. Defreitas of Houston.
