Law money 06

HOUSTON — A Tomball man is suing a business partner, alleging he owes more than $20,000.

Kenneth Dwayne Martin Jr. filed a lawsuit Nov. 23 in Harris County District Court against Corey Williams alleging failure to comply with contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, Martin entered into a partnership agreement with Williams to start a restaurant business wherein the plaintiff would provide partial funding of $19,000. As a result of defendant's actions, the suit says, Martin has been damaged financially because Williams did not begin the process of opening the business and did not use the funds for its intended use and is now attempting to open his own business.

Martin seeks trial by jury, damages of $17,000, attorney fees of $7,500, court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Timothy L. Williams of TL Williams & Associates in Houston.
