TEXARKANA — A Dallas businessman and his company are suing a property insurer, alleging breach of insurance coverage.

Robert Mead and Camp Greenhead LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 6, in the Texarkana Division of the Eastern District of Texas against USI Insurance Service LLC, alleging breach of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, on April 29, 2015, a tornado ripped through Little Sandy, Texas, causing damages to the plaintiffs' waterfowl hunting properties. On May 2, 2016, the suit says, Mead advised USI Insurance's agent of the loss and made a claim for coverage.

To date, the lawsuit states, the plaintiffs have not received any payment for their claim. The plaintiffs allege USI Insurance misrepresented material facts relating to the policy coverage and has refused to honor its obligation to cover the claim.

Mead and Camp Greenhead seek trial by jury, actual and exemplary damages to be determined at trial, attorney fees and costs of court, plus all other proper relief. They are represented by attorney Lance Lee of Texarkana.
