SHERMAN – An employee for an Argyle dry cleaner alleges she was not paid overtime wages.
Suk Johnson filed a complaint on Dec. 15 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against White Tulip Cleaners LLC alleging that the dry cleaning company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked more than 40 hours a week for defendant without receiving overtime compensation for all hours she worked in excess of 40 hours per week. The plaintiff holds White Tulip Cleaners LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly did not pay her the required one-and-one-half times her regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 per week.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order finding that the defendant is liable for unpaid back wages and for liquidated damages, award for the costs of this action, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other necessary and appropriate relief. She is represented by Susan Motley of Wood, Thacker & Weatherly PC in Denton.
