HOUSTON – A Jones Act seaman alleges he was injured while on the job because his employer failed to maintain a safe work environment.

Mickel Hahn filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the Harris County District Court against Offshore Specialty Fabricators LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 8, 2015, he was employed by defendant aboard defendant's DB William Kallop when he sustained serious injuries that he claims resulted in physical pain, impairment, physical pain, discomfort, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Offshore Specialty Fabricators LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train and supervise its crew, failed to provide safety equipment and failed to provide adequate medical treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in a total sum in excess of $1 million, plus pre- and post-judgment interests, all costs of court and such other just relief. He is represented by Kurt Arnold and Kyle Findley of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
