HOUSTON — A Houston couple is suing Ford, alleging breach of implied and express warranties.

Jennifer Cruz and Alexander Cruz filed a complaint Dec. 28 in Harris County District Court against Ford Motor Company alleging failure to comply with the provisions of its written warranty.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2013, Jennifer and Alexander Cruz purchased a 2014 Ford Focus from Ford for $17,043. Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, the suit says, they experienced defects with the transmission engine and steering system.

As a result, the lawsuit states, the plaintiffs revoked the acceptance of the vehicle on Sept. 27, 2016, as they have been financially damaged. The plaintiffs allege Ford refused to provide remedies upon revocation and failed to provide a merchantable Focus vehicle.

The Cruzes seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, attorney fees, costs of court and all proper relief. They are represented by attorneys Erick S. Rahman and John D. Barker of Krohn & Moss Ltd. in Chicago.
