Tenant blames Houston apartment operator for shooting injuries

HOUSTON — A Harris County tenant is suing a Houston apartment operator, alleging the defendant's negligence led to the plaintiff being shot and injured. 

William Sanders filed a complaint Jan. 4 in Harris County District Court against Sheng-Raamco Management Inc., alleging, alleging failure to provide security fencing around its apartment complex.

According to the complaint, on March 27, 2016, Sanders, a paying tenant at Sheng-Raamco's apartment complex, 777 Bateswood Drive, Houston. The suit says an intruder broke into Sanders' unit and shot him several times. 

The lawsuit states Sanders was seriously injured and suffered physical and mental pain, lost wages, disfigurement and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Sheng-Raamco Management failed to provide any type of security to protect its tenants.

Sanders seeks trial by jury, compensation in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Eric D. Nielsen and Ryan Bill of The Nielsen Law Firm PC in Houston.
