Mother blames Hosuton health care facility for daughter's injuries

Medical malpractice 01

HOUSTON — A mother is suing a Houston health care facility, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries to her daughter.

Sinia Frazier, individually and as next friend of Simone Woodley, filed a complaint Jan. 11 in Harris County District Court against Rebecca Hills, doing business as Diversified Care Home, alleging the defendant negligently allowed a profoundly disabled individual to take a bath unsupervised.

According to the complaint, on April 20, 2015, Woodley, Frazier's disabled daughter, sustained third-degree burns on her hands, thighs lower legs and feet when she took a scalding hot bath unsupervised. The suit says Woodley has suffered physical and mental pain and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Diversified Care Home was grossly negligent in allowing a disabled individual to take a bath by herself.

Frazier seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Willard P. Conrad of Houston.
