Harris County woman says Partners in Technology failed to prevent slippery entrance

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Partners in Technology, LLC DBA Walgreens aka Walgreens Family of Companies, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Geraldine Clifton filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the Harris County District Court against Partners in Technology, alleging that the company failed to properly maintain the store.

According to the complaint, Clifton alleges that in Jan. 22, 2015, she went to the defendant's store to shop, but as she was walking, she slipped and fell due to the slippery paved entrance. As a result, she was severely injured and suffered physical pain, physical impairment and mental anguish. She holds the company responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide warnings for the dangerous area, failed to properly maintain the premises and is vicariously liable under the doctrine of Respondent Superior for the acts of or omissions of its agents or servants/employees.

Clifton requests a trial by jury and seeks liquidated damages in the amount of $50,000 and for such other further relief, both general and special, at law and in equity, to which plaintiff may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by John Farneti, Jr. in Houston.
